  “ We had a great presence of people of all ages, but I have concerns about the few occurrences of over the top Christianity on display that I knew would be used against us by the media. Personally, I agree with the 9 principles and 12 values, but we allow ourselves to be maligned in the media as well as turn off the next generation of Americans who know their history, and therefore are willing to actively make their voice heard in defense of liberty. The media and government education have led younger Americans to associate the frankly scary Bible-thumping protesters at East End fests (they were even at the Red Wings game last week outside) in a very pejorative manner. Other than mentioning value #2, Beck rarely speaks about religion (probably due to the fact that as Mormon, most people have nothing but inaccurate and unfounded stereotypes), and invoking religion in anything but the most ecumenical of terms is going to be the downfall of the movement. ”
