Mom always said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. So I'll shut up now.

Brian, your Mom was a very wise woman.
My sympathies to his family; they undoubtedly loved him and will miss him tremendously. I understand there was a perforation of something during his gallbladder surgery. I just heard Rep. Cohen (?) say it was malpractice. There will probably be a lawsuit to keep everyone's minds off their grief. My sympathies also to those who work in the industries and companies he will no longer be able to shunt tax dollars to. I understand there are enhanced unemployment benefits available to them these days. It may be too early to ask such a question but what is the procedure for replacing a Rep. in the great state of Pennsylvania? |

Oh, please - Don't tell me Rep. Cohen is going to use Murtha's death to try to undermine any attempt to address tort reform in the ongoing health care debate?!?! First it was "let's pass health care for poor, dead Teddy," and now it's "we can't have tort reform because of the King of Pork's perforated gallbladder." Just when you thought they couldn't sink any lower . . .

HAHA, Brian....you took the words out of my mouth. On a side note I had a party yesterday for no reason at all....yeah thats why.

Will they have to hold a special election soon?

On the War Room this morning, which is based in PA, (heard locally on WYSL 1040 , and 92.1FM) , Rose said they would have to have a special election within 90 days. Since there will already be a primary election in May - the 18th, I think - all indications are that the special election for Murtha's replacement will take place that day, too.
The Governor has 10 days to schedule that election. |

It seems so ironic.
The man who said "“American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran" and "Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood," ends up dying after a "routine operation" at a military hospital. There was nary a wet eye at our Study Group last night when we heard the news. |

BTW, I was surfing some reader comments on a news story today and was totally disgusted by remarks like this:
"Was Rep. Murtha a former “corpse-man” whose past has now caught up with him?" |
