UPDATE 9-11-09: One other point that is important: the demonstration will take place on the grassy areas in front of the Capitol. We are not permitted to protest on the streets once we complete the March from Freedom Plaza. Please fill in the West Lawn and the surrounding grassy areas, but do not remain on 1st Street. There will be lots of open space along the West Front where we can congregate and listen to the speakers. Thanks!
UPDATE 9-8-09: We are now filling a 4th bus!
UPDATE 9-7-09: Please see 9/12 Survival List below
UPDATE 9-5-09:
Eastview Mall pickup time: 11:45pm
Suburban Plaza pickup time: 12:10am

All three buses will be at Eastview Mall in Victor at 11:45pm and leave at midnight to head over to Suburban Plaza, arrive there at 12:10am, and leave from there to DC at 12:20am. The Eastview Mall meetup place is at the South end of the mall in the parking lot outside Macy's. There are 29 yellow baseball hats left for $10 each that will be available on the buses and we will have some T-Shirts available on the buses also (S/M/L are $10, XL/XXL/XXXL are $11). Please contact Lisa at [masked] if you would like a T-Shirt so she can get them printed.

UPDATE 8-22-09: We have 2 buses filled and are working on a 3rd!

Chartered buses will be leaving Friday night at midnight and arrive in Washington at 9:00am on 9/12/09. We will attend the event and then get back on the buses at 6:00pm Saturday night and arrive in Rochester very early Sunday morning (3:00am). Cost is $75 per person. Bus tickets need to be pre-purchased (see below). Busses will pick up in Rochester at two locations: Eastview Mall in Victor near the Macy's parking lot (on the south side of the mall) and Suburban Plaza in Henrietta.

A DC Agenda is available here: http://912dc.org... , as well as lots of other good information, including "Do's and Don't for Volunteers and Attendees", available here: http://912dc.org/even....

If anyone is handy at making a scrapbook - maybe on "flutterby" or any other photo web site, I would love to purchase one as a momento of this event - using as many photos as we can get, especially of the signs - some were very clever. Anyone else interested?

Really great group of people on my bus. We had a rollicking good time, nobody got lost. Down and back without a major hitch. Thanks to all of the hard work of Erik, Paul, Lisa and others. We're (Elaine and I) tired but very satisfied with what we are seeing. Especially the young people we see who are not afraid to speak their minds and are well read and the future of this country. I am proud to call you Friend !!!

This March on the 12th could be one of our (all Americans) Defining moments in our Great Countries History. Im glad to be standing shoulder to shoulder with America's Patriots on this day! We in a show of numbers will say "No more will we stand Idly by and watch you steal our Countries future" Sell it out to special interest's and the highest bidder. Make us a ONE world Nation Governed by anything but "We The People". That we will not go away silent into the night we are the Majority.

Glenn Beck's 9-12 site has listed the names of seventy-five contacts spread throughout 25 states for information regarding catching a bus to DC. We are not alone, and we surround them! I'm getting psyched!

What a great experience! We met TONS of like-minded people from all over the country! It was a thrill to be part of all of this and to know that people across the country were fired up. Talked with the DC POlice afterwards and they were very complimentary about how our group behaved ("You guys were great!"). One officer said that a protest the size of ours happens "only once in a blue moon" in DC, and he thought the last time he had seen one that was even close in size was "fourteen years ago for the Million Man March".
    •  I want to thank everyone who put this together. To join so many in DC and seeing the discontent with both parties shows just how wode spread this is. Congresses math is that one contact equals fifty constituents feelings. Well Washington, what are one to two million constituents on your doorstep telling you. It is time to listen to us.
    •  I only saw two people from Rochester there - there were just too many with yellow shirts. I tried for about an hour before the march started, but I wanted to participate with the crowd activities too. I stopped looking, and during the day, I met one on the street (before the march) and one on the West Lawn. It really didn't matter though the whole day was great since we were all there for the same purpose. Met many people from all over the US. Many had purchased plane tickets in order to attend - the hotel was full of 9/12's also.

This was an incredible experience for all of us! It was wonderful to know our friends and be part of an historical event!
    •  I'm sore and tired from the trip down and back in the bus but it was worth it to have this amazing experience.
    •  Amazing! A truly humbling look at the real Americans that make up our great country! Next up? 2010.
    •  It was great to finally see patriotic American's standing up. (The Bus #4 driver might need some safe driving training.)
    •  My first political rally ever and it will always be etched in my mind as a wonderfully patriotic event. Even though the news and papers said it was 10's of thousands, I believe it was more near the 2 million mark. I only say that because I looked at what is used via DC's standards to measure crowds and what I was told the park police estimated it to be. People were constantly coming into DC. No matter what the count, it shows that people are coming together to express their views and to stop out-of-control government. It also shows that we the people are not going to let our constitutional rights be taken away. We need to continue this mission because it's only going to get worse, and the American people are going to have to continue to be watch dogs.

Note: 1.5 Million in attendance.. could only put 999. I am so glad that I could come to Washington DC to participate in the 912 event. We started at Freedom Plaza around 9:30 am and reached the Capitol building at 10:21 am. The people kept coming, and coming, and coming. It wasn't until around 1:00 pm that the lines of people subsided. It was inspiring to know that I am not alone in my concern for where our leaders are taking this Country - democrat, independent, and republican alike. The creativity of the American people is awe inspiring demonstrated by the cleverness of their messages. So many signs expressed my thoughts. I met many people from all parts of the US. Everyone was warm and grateful to be there. Too bad that our own President ignored the event and the MSM down played the multitudes of people who attended. But, we have only just begun. I have so many friends who had wanted to participate. This truly was not a one-time event. The heartland of this Country has awakened.
    •  The National Park Service said that there were 2.5 million people there. The Fox (yes, Fox) Network guessed just said that there were 250,000 to 500,000. What is up with that? If we can't get an honest report from Fox, we are doomed. I had a fabulous time in D.C. The turnout was spectacular. I was hoping for a million people, but we certainly outdid that. We were told that there were so many people coming in that the expressways couldn't handle it. I wouldn't change a thing. We need to do it again and soon. Perhaps, the next move is to march on all of the state capitals on the same day (or weekend). Buses could be chartered, etc. Heaven knows there is plenty of work to be done in state politics.
