From Wendy T: There are surely some WSR members who don't pray and I'd like to invite them to join us in fasting that day. Though our reasons for doing so would be different, like many issues we discuss here, we may agree on the principle and the value in our shared experience and sacrifice. Fasting for one day can remind us just how lucky we are to be Americans, how much we take for granted and how much we have to be thankful for. Besides, unless there's a medical reason which prevents doing so, a one day fast is great for relieving that sluggish, 'blah' feeling with which many of us are afflicted.
