What a great weekend in Rochester. Coming from MA, I was welcomed into the Rochester community. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Viva Palin!
I had a great time and I met Sarah Palin. Does it get any better ? Not for me.
Three wonderful ladies who I never knew before tonight allowed me in the the book signing to meet Governor Palin. THANK YOU LADIES !!!!!!
I had a writing deadline to meet and it made getting up in the wee hours impossible. I did buy the book though and my husband , kids and I are going to cheer when the bus arrives. I hope you got a wrist band Kevin D after all you went through to get here!
I'm really hoping "Palinomics" will cure this Obamanation
Passed by Borders around 11:30 PM...the line was already down by Chuckie Cheese. I saw a few Tea Party Patriot hats in the crowd. Still suffering the after effects of the h1n1 flu so it probably would not be a wise idea to sit outside all night long. I love Sarah but my health comes first.
I'm going to bed now. Lori W. is driving from Lyons to my place in Ontario. Plan to leave here at 2:30 a.m. and head for Borders! There should be a good crowd started already, from what callers were saying on Lonsberry today. It's an early call but is exciting to have Sarah Palin stop here in Rochester, NY. I don't want to miss the chance to meet her and have her autograph my copy of "Going Rogue: An American Life"! I think we are all going to be part of a history making event! See you there!
For anyone planning to see Sarah Palin tomorrow.....I was down at Border's in Henrietta about an hour and a half ago to buy my copy of Sarah's book. I left there about 6:20, and there was already a group of about 10 people who came there together, who has started the wristband line. I don't know what that means for how quickly the line will grow between now and 9am, but I thought you would all like to know that the line has started forming.
Yea definitely. I figure, this may be my one chance to meet her. So I'm going to do whatever I can to get a wristband. I just saw a clip of her book tour in Michigan tonight-it looks like a zoo. The amount of people she attracts is truly amazing. I can't wait until Saturday!
Wow Kevin. I can see me getting there at 6 but not 5. You are so dedicated to drive all that way to see her. Knowing that at least one other person will be there (you ) I will feel safer standing in a parking lot in the dark. When we went to Washington DC I had to line up for three hours in the morning to guarantee that I got tickets for our family to go into the Holocaust Museum...same thing with a limited amount they process each day. Some things are just worth it !
Cynthia, I plan on parking over night since I am coming from MA. I imagine people will start lining up around 430 or 5am.
If I buy the book and go very early and don't get a wristband I will be seriously disappointed. Then again if I am standing out there by myself at 6:30 I will feel rather foolish. HOw many of you guys are really going to go that early?
What time do you think people will start lining up for the wristbands? I am driving from Central Massachusetts (6hrs) for the event, so I'm nervous about what time to get there?
PS - It looks like you have to have your copy of the book purhcased from Borders, and show your proof of purchase that it was from borders! Just FYI for everyone :)
PS - Wendy T - I agree!!!
I called also - Rick's info is correct. I'll be there at 9:00!!!!
I stopped @ Border's last night to get details:
1) 1000 wristbands - 1 per family (max 2 adults and children)
2) Will start handing them out @ 9am on 11/21
3) In order to get wristband, YOU MUST purchase book @ Borders
4) No personalization of books
5) Only photos taken from distance are allowed
6) Will have table for gifts, etc.
7) No other memorabilia will be allowed to sign
8) Limit of 2 books per wristband
9) Rules subject to change
I hope I can get a wristband!
We need to have lots of us there in our shirts - carrying business cards and a smile!
Sarah's facebook says she will be here 6-9 pm. Before that she will be in PA 11-2 pm.
If anyone finds out she is doing a fund raiser while in town and meet her would you tell me. I'm willing to pay $100 for an autograph with her like she did in Auburn.
Just called borders and time has been changed to 6 pm. She said watch their website for latest info on it.
