The theme of the Tea Party is "Redress of Grievances Concerning Fiscal and Economic Policy". Please bring signs that reflect the theme. There's going to be information tables for the groups that are organizing and supporting the Rochester Tea Party Movement, live music, the presentation of the colors, the Invocation led by Rev. Dr. Tommy Davis, a salute to Veterans, speeches and sing-a-longs. We hope that all who attend will be inspired to stand fast for the cause of Liberty and defense of the Constitution!
Last year's Tax Day Rochester Tea Party drew more than 1500 patriots. Let's get those "boots on the ground" and double that number on April 15, 2010, to show the Mainstream Media, the Feds and NY State government that we mean business! Please invite your family and friends to join us. If you can't make it in person to the Tea Party, please publicize it.

I love the passion that I see on the boards - it's the American way. Keep doing what you can and remember there are a lot of good people in this movement who love our country and we will and have made a difference. Like last year, I will have to write an 'excuse' for school to justify why my son's not in attendance that day. It is considered an 'unexcused absence', even with the note. I'd like to see every school-aged child buck that mindset and come to the Tea Party for a REAL education!

There will be a few scams, as well as a few 'truthers' out there. I'll be circulating the crowd, but mostly hanging around the booths. So don't disregard your 2012 Draft Sarah Organizer! I have not been able to make it to several Bathtub Billy's meetings because of work and classes, but I'm still here!!! See you on the 15th!!!

You can get Gadsen flags (and a pole) at the Stars and Stripes Flag Store, 455 South Avenue in Rochester, 546-3524. Call them first to make sure they still have them. They sold out before last year's Tax Day Tea Party!
BTW, all proceeds from sales made at the Flag Store go to the Veterans Outreach Center. You'll get a quality flag and pole too! That's where I bought the American Flag and the POW/MIA flags that led all of the Rochester Tea Parties.

Mike & DianeThis was a good event. Staying at the park and not marching through the city was an improvement over last year. Sounds was also better but could have even been louder still for those in the back. Kevin Williams was a great addition to the speakers, both for the content of his speech and for the fact that he makes the group harder to discredit. I was hoping for a larger crowd that last year but I would say it was about the same. Local TV coverage that I saw was actually fairly decent.

Greg LeGrandIt was a beautiful day out. The people were really nice and I had the opportunity to talk to many people about why they were there. Even the police I talked to commented on how much they like to work our rallies, because the people are so polite and there is never any problems. I took some photos of a lot of the signs (see link to photos below) Nobody had any disturbing signs, no racial comments, no Barrack Joker signs... The speakers were varied and it was nice to see young people and minorities step up to the platform to speak. A lot of young people were in the crowd too. I am glad to see the younger generation getting involved. Even two horses showed up to voice their opinion, I wont tell you what they said, but lets just say they are very conservative. All in all a nice crowd of around 1100-1300 of good Americans coming together to stand up for our country. For photos go here: http://cid-...

Unfortunately the government probably won't listen until after the elections, but it's important to keep delivering the message and recruiting our fellow citizens to stand for freedom and responsible government! I liked last year's event better because of the march. Why were we stationary this year?

CarrieGood turn out. The Campaign for Liberty did an excellent job organizing. We are all on the same side. It is time for all of us to realize it, and UNITE!! WE need to support each other. The speakers were all very inspiring. The weather helped us out too today, it was a day meant to be.

Roger HuryszA little too long on speeches, lost supporters at end, but good to see local celebrities like Kevin Williams. Would have liked to see a group march to Monroe County Office Bldg.. More viisability and impact on community. I heard that people at the M.C. O. Bldg were looking for us like last year.

WrknstifOnly problem I had was that it started late. Was needing to get back to work. Otherwise, this year's Tea Party was very well organized (as compared to last year). I thought EVERY speaker was good and I really liked that they all addressed a different topic that concerns US(A). Let's keep the momentum through the November elections. We DESPARATELY NEED TO VOTE THIS REGIME OUT. Thanks for organizing this and leading us in this effort.

Ruth Ann Batt+1 guestWe attended. The gathering was great. Thanks to all who contributed. I do have a comment about the sound system used. Many people were standing on the second level of the area and along the bridge walkway. They couldn't hear. I know many people left early because they couldn't hear. The position of the podium and the speakers didn't project the sound to where many people were standing. Also, the volume of the speaker system was too low. I would suggest having additional speakers on the second level and also speakers facing the bridge area. Larger speakers and more volume would help. This same problem exists at many of the WSR events. As the membership increases and the number of attendees increases, the capacity of sound system used needs to be expanded so the larger crowd can hear.

I believe this should be an independent, non-affiliated Tea Party, not part of any national Tea Party group; or the Republican Party, Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, etc. Our Tea Party should be for non-partisan, independent individuals who want to take back our government. That should be the only agenda.
